Common Questions

The questions shop owners actually ask, answered straight — and each one names the clause that governs it, because an answer you can check is worth more than one you have to trust.

Who owns my client list?
Your shop does — completely. We process it only to run your tools, never sell it, never market other shops to your clients, and you can export everything at any time, even after you leave.
Governed by Terms §9 and the DPA
Do you take commission on my takings?
No. Payments go through your own Stripe account as direct charges — Fadelio adds 0% on top. Your price is your money; our only revenue is the subscription.
Governed by Terms §5
If I cancel mid-month, do I get money back?
Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep full access until the period you've paid for ends. There are no exit fees and no partial refunds for the remainder.
Governed by Terms §4
What happens to my data after I leave?
You have a 30-day export window after your subscription ends; after that we delete on the schedule in the DPA. Take everything with you — it's machine-readable.
Governed by Terms §16 and the DPA
Who answers for a haircut gone wrong?
The shop — the appointment, the service and the chair are the shop's, and shops confirm they hold the licences and insurance their trade requires. Fadelio is the software, never the barber.
Governed by Terms §2
Can Fadelio raise my price without warning?
No. Price changes come with at least 30 days' notice by email, apply only from your next renewal after the notice — never retroactively — and you can cancel before one takes effect.
Governed by Terms §4
Who is the merchant when my client pays?
Your shop is. The charge runs on your own Stripe account, your name is on the statement, and the money settles to your bank. Fadelio never holds your clients' money and isn't a party to the payment.
Governed by Terms §5
A client charged back a deposit — whose problem is it?
Yours, because the money and the client relationship are yours — the platform gives you the evidence trail (policy shown at booking, confirmations, reminders) to fight it with. If Stripe makes us fund a dispute on your account, you repay us.
Governed by Terms §6
Can I text my whole client list?
Your own clients, yes — UK law lets you market to existing clients who can opt out, and every text carries STOP. A bought or borrowed list, never: the law fines the sender as well as the shop, so the platform won't be part of it.
Governed by Terms §8
Where does my data actually live?
Compute in London, database in Frankfurt — UK/EEA at rest. The services that process anything outside the UK (SMS, email, AI drafting) are on the live sub-processor list with the legal basis for each transfer.
Governed by Privacy §7 and the Security Overview
Can the AI features make decisions for me?
No — they draft, summarise and suggest, and you decide. AI output can be wrong, so the product asks you to review before anything reaches a client, and it's never legal or financial advice.
Governed by Terms §13
Who's responsible for a gift card's balance?
The shop that sold it — you're the issuer, the unspent balance is your liability until it's redeemed, and the promises shown at purchase are yours to honour. The platform tracks balances and redemptions; it never becomes the issuer.
Governed by Terms §7
Do my clients agree to these terms too?
No — these documents bind shops, not their clients. A client's booking is with your shop, under the terms and privacy page on your own booking site — published in fourteen languages, with your live cancellation policy in them.
One honest note: these answers are summaries. If a summary and a document ever disagree, the document governs — that's Terms §18, and it applies to this page too.
